Baked Chicken With
Mushrooms
(6 servings)
Ingredients:
3 lb
frying chicken
3 Tbs chicken fat or butter
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1 10.5 oz. can chicken broth
3 Tbs water 2 Tbs Potato Starch like:
Manischewitz®
1/4 lb mushrooms, diced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Preparation:
Cut chicken into quarters. Heat the fat in a
large skillet. Add chicken and sauté until
brown. Place chicken in a baking dish. To the
fat in the skillet, add onion powder, garlic
powder and condensed soup. Blend water with
potato starch until smooth. Gradually add this
mixture to broth mixture and cook, stirring
constantly, until thickened. Add mushrooms and
gravy to chicken. Cover (use aluminum foil if
pan has no cover) and bake in a 350° oven for
one hour or until tender.
